Appita Membership

General Membership

Membership runs from 1 January – 31 December.
The full fees are payable on joining and a pro-rata credit will be made towards the following years fee if you join part way through the year.

Individual Member

Individual Members are those who have an interest in the aims and objectives of Appita.

Benefits:

• A subscription to Appita TIME Magazine incorporating the Appita Journal.
• Annual electronic subscription to the Appita e-newsletter.
• Annual electronic subscription to the new quarterly Appita Tech Notes.
• Annual electronic subscription to the Australian & New Zealand Pulp & Paper Industry Guide.
• Substantial discounts on registration rates for the Appita Annual Conference & Exhibition and short courses.
• First hand notification of upcoming Appita activities including Conferences, Short Courses, Symposia, Section & Special Interest Group events.
• The right to stand for election on the Appita executive committee.
• The right to vote at an election.
• Discounted prices on other Appita publications.
  

Individual Member Benefits are not transferable

Student member

A non-salaried student enrolled at a recognised post-secondary or tertiary institution and who is interested in the objectives of Appita.

Benefits as per Individual Member listed above.

Corporate Sustaining member

An institution, trade or professional association, library, company or similar organisation in the pulp and paper industry, or a related industry or service, which is in sympathy with the objectives of Appita. Three grades of sustaining memberships are available, depending on the level of business conducted in the pulp and paper industry.

Benefits:

• Two nominated representatives to receive full benefits of an Individual Member (transferable).
• One of the nominated representatives shall have the right to vote and hold office.
• Complimentary listing in the Australian & New Zealand Pulp& Paper Industry Guide.
  
• Complimentary listing in the Trade Directory on the Appita website.
• 20% discount on advertising rates for the Appita TIME Magazine.
• 10% discount on exhibition space at the Annual Conference & Exhibition.

The Appita Membership Committee will determine the Level for each Sustaining Member based on the information supplied in the application.

Corporate Membership Program

Corporate Company Member

A firm or corporation actively engaged in the manufacture of pulp and/or paper and in sympathy with the objectives of Appita.

Benefits:

• Eligible to participate in the Site Membership Program
  
• Three nominated representatives to receive full benefits of an Individual Member (transferable).
• One of the nominated representatives shall have the right to vote and hold office.
  
• Complimentary listing in the Australia & New Zealand Pulp & Paper Industry Guide.
• Complimentary listing in the Trade Directory on the Appita website.

Site Membership Program

Company Members are eligible to participate in the Site membership Program.  Site Membership is available to Member Companies that have manufacturing sites based in Australia and New Zealand.

Benefits:

• Unlimited number of Site Employee members entitled to all individual membership privileges with an electronic copy only of the Appita TIME magazine (voting rights and the right to hold office excluded).
• Five hard copies of the appita Time Magazine delivered to site.
• Two hard copies of the Australia & New Zealand Pulp & Paper Industry Guide.
• 40% discount to Individual Members wishing to retain their voting privileges and right to hold office and a hard copy of the Appita TIME Magazine
  
  

Individual SITE MEMBER

 All employees from companies that have taken out the Corporate Membership Program are entitled to become an individual Site Employee Member of Appita.

• Annual electronic subscription to the new quarterly Appita Tech Notes.

Appita Fellow

An Appita Fellow shall be an Individual Member or a Nominated Representative of a Company or a Sustaining Member, who has made a substantial contribution to the industry and/or to Appita, by their service in a position of responsibility or by their experience, and who is so elected by resolution of the Executive Committee.

To be considered for an Appita Fellowship a written report of 2 - 4 pages is required. The purpose is to show evidence of qualifications, and breadth and depth of understanding of and contribution to the Pulp & Paper Industry, and to show experience and achievement in positions of responsibility.

Honorary Life Member

An Honorary Life Member shall be an Individual Member, who has given outstanding service to the industry and/or to Appita and who is so elected by resolution of the Executive Committee. The number of Honorary Life Members is restricted to 1.5 per cent of the total membership.
